Friday Favorites: Mary Robinson

Today I want to share one of my semi-recent inspirations, Mary Robinson. I can't remember when I first discovered her flickr. It's been a little while, but I rediscovered it last week by looking up photos that were taken with a Canon AE-1. This past summer my grandpa gave me his old Canon AE-1 that I have been wanting since I was a little girl. Its the first time I remember knowing I wanted to try to take pictures. I came across her flickr and it has inspired me to try to shoot film more. I have only shot one roll of film on my Canon and have yet to develop it.

Her photos are so inspiring and beautiful. I absolutely love the focus and the colors and how she executes double exposures. Ahh, just youthful and breathtaking. Here are some of her photos that I love:

You can find her photos on Flickr or Blogspot.

30 Days Thursday: Day Two

Where you'd like to be in then years.

Hmm...this is such a difficult question for me, because I really don't know what is going to happen with anything this whole year so its really hard for me to say where I'll be in ten years. I would really like to have a family by then and obviously have a career. That career though is the thing I am stuck on. Everything else I'm sure of, but I still am not sure about what I want to be when I grow up. A lot of times I can't sleep at night, because I'm 21 years old and have still not answered that question. I've been going to school for nursing the past couple of years, but that has been mostly my mom's decision and because I was so unsure even then, I just went with it thinking it will all work itself out eventually.

It really hasn't and I'm still undecided if I should finish up with nursing or follow my dream as a photographer. I just always question my abilities to do photography so thats the hard part.

I don't know. I guess I'm all over the place and this is becoming a rant, haha. I guess in ten years I just want to have had a decision made and be starting a family. I've always wanted kids and I have always admired mother's that are really good to their children. My mom took care of the necessities for the most part as we grew up, but I don't think any of us have grown really close to her. She works 12 hour shifts as a nurse and night shifts at that and has done that since we were little. So, we rarely got to see her anyways. I want to be different from that. I want to be close with my children and give them strong values and options in their life. Yeah.

Wedding Attire

I'm not doing a regular wedding feature on my blog. I just wanted to do this today, because I am constantly looking for all things wedding related to give me inspiration for my own wedding. I thought I would share some that I found :).

Me and my fiance have been engaged for over a year now, because we are trying to finish school. We're not rushing things, but are up for getting married whenever the time feels right and also after we move down south where all of my family is. Anyways, I am fascinated with the different colors, the photography that goes into it and all the different style dresses. I even love the grooms attire. Everything is so delectable.

At the moment I am in love with tea length dresses and lace for my wedding gown and have been for a very long time. Also I love pastels and the rustic feel. Its very popular right now I assume, but it seems so very classic and dreamy!

PS I know I have been MIA lately, but only because I'm trying on a new schedule. I've been trying to workout more and definitely have been. Also, I had doctors appointment yesterday. I'm putting in for a job at the local daycare so I don't have to be home all day doing nothing. I'm so excited for all of this, because I've found myself being a little depressed the past few months from not doing enough or not having full days. Hopefully this changes that and it doesn't affect my blog too much. It should only make it better since I will be doing more and will have more to share! Anywho, have a great day everyone!

My Weekend (w/ some Instagrams)

This weekend was very relaxing and just what I needed. All week I have been stressed out for reasons I'm not sure of. Probably because I haven't been doing anything. I decided to not go back to school this semester, because we could be moving at anytime and I would have to drop my classes. I was going to start working, but then heard we could be leaving in as soon as 3 weeks and rethought that idea. Now, I've decided to go on with it. Mostly because we aren't sure if it will be 3 weeks or not and most of all we aren't sure of anything. I'm really tired of just sitting around the house.

This weekend was needed, because I finally figured things out, such as starting to work and I also started working out again. Its really rejuvenating (and hard work!) to get back at it. Hopefully I stick to it this time. Fingers crossed.

Anywho, the pictures a some from the weekend. Not a lot and it doesn't really include everything, but what the hey, haha. The first one is all of our penny rolls. We have over two-hundred dollars in change that we have to roll, because we are using it to fix the sway bar on our car. The pennies were obviously the worse. It probably took over an hour just to roll twenty dollars worth.

The second photo is of my favorite authors book, Me Talk Pretty One Day. I'm rereading all of his books because I haven't read them since my senior year of high school. I even got Danza into them! If you haven't heard of him or read any of his books I highly suggest that you do!

The bottom two are of my nephew. His parents got him some balloons for no reason at all. He just really loves balloons. Hes so cute and always making funny faces. Heres a couple of little video of him being...well himself.

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Friday Favorites: Bookcases

There are so many elements to a house that can make it really beautiful and one that I think is very important (at least for me) and eye catching are bookcases. They are so many different styles and colors. They are so fabulous and not only are they fabulous, but what you can set in them can really make the difference. You could use them for collections, displays, or just really great books! I love seeing what different people do with their bookcases and how they add to the look of a room.

Here are some really cute and interesting ones I've found.

Here is a rotating bookcase in what looks like could be a young girls bedroom, so cute!
Heres a honeycomb bookase, such a great design.

Very creative!

Love this pop of color :)

I don't know how anyone managed this, but its perfect!

So in love with this idea. Not very convenient, but oh so beautiful.

 This! Very nice design.

Bookshelf headboards are so awesome :)

Such a cute idea for a child's room!

I love neat huge bookshelves in a den :)

 Fireplace bookshelf/storage

Secret door bookshelf! I would give anything for a house that adorable and its in my favorite color!

Bookshelf in the shape of the United States, just pure awesomeness

Youtube Awesomeness

Here are a few of my Youtube favorites from this week :) They're mostly self-explanatory.

I just think this is awesome, because I'm so afraid of heights and apparently so is she and she went for it. I dont know if I could do that, so kudos!

Regional Dialect Meme!

I just saw this on Kaelah's blog and thought it was so awesome! Its the first time I've seen anything like this, but I went ahead and did my own. Excuse the sniffles! And how quiet and mumbly I am! I've always alwaaays gotten crap for being quiet and mumbling. Hope you can understand me, haha.

30 Days Thursday: Day One

So, I'm going to start this 30 day challenge thing that is usually for Tumblr, but I usually forget to post those type of things on Tumblr and I think I'm more likely to post it on here and keep up with it :)
Instead of doing it every day I'll do it one day a week (Thursday obviously) for 30 days. Welp, here goes day one.

Your current relationship, if single discuss how single life is.

(one of our first photos together and it was an inside joke we were definately not serious lol)

I am in a relationship with my wonderful boyfriend of 5 years. His name is LaDanza (sounded out like Tony Danza) We met on accident 3 different times before getting together all three times because of a mutual friend. The first at one of his skate competitions, the second because the mutual friend of ours (Juwan) came to see me and had Danza give him a ride, and the third and final was at a homecoming dance for my high school which he didn't go to. I wasn't even going to go to the dance, because I wasnt sure if my friends would be there or not, but I got terribly bored and went on a whim. He tagged along with Juwan who went to school there. Juwan ended up ditching him for some girl and I was there still looking for my friends so we got stuck together. It turned out to be an intersting night. He was being really cute trying to steal my phone from me so he could hold my hand and all of that. The whole night we sat in a corner by ourselves just flirting and joking.
(back in 2007 when he had a blonde patch in his hair haha I def miss how I looked back then)

I decided I wanted to go home so I called for my ride and he walked me outside to wait. While we were standing there he leaned in to kiss me. I was seriously taken aback. I though he was way out of my league and there was no way he would like me. But he did :) Anyways, after that I left and ended up getting our car rammed into the back by another car while we were turning into our drive way and I had to go to the hospital for x-rays because I couldnt move my back since I hit it off jack, but I was fine.

(another one of our old photos together :) )

The next day he called me though and we hung out that night and have been together ever since.
We had a ton of ups and downs in the beginning because of exes, but once it got cleared up everything was smooth sailing. We met when we had both just turned 16 and are both now 21. His birthday is only 5 days before mine, to the date. And now we are engaged :)

Here are some more random/old photos:

(I believe this is the 1st pic I ever took of him)
